My name is Derek Pitt and I am the Deputy Director of Anchor House, I have worked here for almost 9 years after running my own company for many years. I am responsible for the day to day operations of Anchor House.

I am a support and planning co-ordinator working with a mutli-talented team. We have 120 residents who we are responsible for and they have many support needs which we do our best to address.

Hi I’m Terry Riordan, Maintenance Manager here at Anchor house, I have worked here for 35 five years and have seen to many changes to mention in this building, from caring for seafarers through to the homeless unit that we now are.

I joined Anchor House in May 2008. Not working for the Charity Sector before this was a completely new challenge for me in which I have enjoyed every step of the way. I currently head up a team of ten in the Front of House at Reception.

My role involves helping out at the reception desk, teaching the art class, coaching the football team and producing/signing artists at E16 Studio which is owned by A.H.

2009 Charitytimes Award Winners!

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

The team celebrated last night at the Lancaster Hotel in London after winning the 2009 Charitytimes Award for Best Use of Technology in the third sector.

Director Keith Fernett commented that this marked the culmination of 3 years worth of hard work and was a significant moment for Anchor House, punching well above its weight in a very competitive list of UK finalists!

Hope & Home

The Residents of Anchor House in conjunction with APE Media collabrated to produce this video about how their home has given them hope in life. This production was runners-up for the Micheal Whippman prize for use of technology, an award that Anchor House has won the previous two years. It has also been shortlisted for the Third Sector Award for The Best use of Technology in the Third sector.
