Adult Learners’ week is Britain’s largest and longest-running learning campaign. For one week every May the campaign aims to raise awareness of the possibilities for further education and encourages many adults, whatever their age and background to have a go at learning a new skill.
Jorge Graca (pictured) has found returning to study challenging at times, but he has never been deterred. Jorge came to Anchor House in 2006 and moved on in 2008. He originally comes from Portugal, where his family circumstances were difficult and he was not able to complete his secondary education.
Anchor House helped him with his English from ESOL to Level 1 and he has now completed Intermediate English Language Booster course with Birkbeck College.
