Continuing our policy of creating a learning organisation, Keith Fernett the Director of Anchor House recently visited Austria as part of a delegation looking at how Caritas Austria and Caritas Vienna run a variety of projects including homeless organisations, homes for the elderly, specialist facilities for young people with disabilities and a mother and childrens project. Keith said of his visit ”We saw some enviable high quality facilities that illustrated the benefits of strategic partnerships between the state and the charity sector….. we have a lot to learn in the UK about how to harness the skills and dedication of the third sector as they do in Austria”
