Anchor House has recently welcomed Dr Muhammad Abdul Bari MBE, Chairman of London’s oldest mosque and renowned community activist, as one of its newest Patrons.
Dr Abdul Bari will assist the charity in raising the remaining £9.6 million through its Home and Hope Capital Appeal so that it may continue its support for Newham’s homeless and unemployed. Other Patrons include Lord Patten, Rt. Hon Ann Widdecombe, Jeremy Paxman, the Archbishops of Westminster and Southwark and the Bishop of Brentwood, Sir George Bull, Sir Christopher Benson and Lord Guthrie of Craigiebank.
